A P R Nair Memorial Invitational Basketball Tournament 2025 held at Kerala Samajam Model School, in memory of Late Mr. A P R Nair, Ex-Chairman, Kerala Samajam.
The two day (8th September and 9th September, 2025) Basketball tournament was organized at KSMS Basketball Court by Kerala Samajam and KSMS in which teams from schools of the city were participants.
On 8th September, 2025, the opening of the tournament was done by the Chief Guest Mr K. Muralidharan, President – Kerala Samajam at 12:oo noon. The trial matches were played on a knock-out basis between Boys teams and Girls teams.
On 9th September, 2025, 4:00 p.m. onwards at KSMS Basketball Court, the finals were held. Mr. Sharat Chandran (Director, Kerala Public Schools) was present as the Chief Guest with Ms. Manorama Nair (wife of Late Mr. A P R Nair, Ex-Chairman, Kerala Samajam) at the closing ceremony. The special guests included Mr. T.K. Sukumaran (Trustee, Kerala Samajam), Mr. K. Muralidharan (President, Kerala Samajam), Ms. Nandini Shukla (Principal, KSMS), Mr. A.L. Abraham, Ms. Rina Banerjee and Ms. Sujata Singh (Vice Principal, KSMS), Ms. Vrinda Suresh (Registrar, KSMS) were present.
The FINAL matches were between
- Girls team – KSMS vs KPS Burmamines
Winners : Kerala Samajam Model School
Runners : KPS Burmamines
- Boys team – KPS Kadma vs KSMS
Winners : KPS Kadma
Runners : KSMS
Best Player Boy – Anand from KPS Kadma
Best Player Girl – Kushi from KSMS
Games teachers Mr. Deepak Jagan, Md. Shahbaz Khan, Ms. Anjani, Mr. Jay Kumar and Mr. Nihal Singh from the school organised the tournament.
Mr. K Muralidharan, President, Kerala Samajam, Mr. K.P.G Nair, Chairman, Kerala Samajam, Ms. Nandini Shukla, Principal, and Vice-principal – Ms. Rina Banerjee, Ms. Sujata and Mr. A L Abraham, members from Kerala Samajam, parent and teachers were present to witness the matches.
