This year the Grand Finale of Youth Festival 2019 was organized on 3rd December 2019 , recognizing more than 400 students. The prize distribution ceremony, to recognize the talents, both individual and team events, on-stage was graced by Mr. P S Reddy, Managing Director, JAMIPOL and his wife, Ms. Radhika Reddy. Mr. K P G Nair, President, Kerala Samajam and Members of the Managing Committee were also present. The Principal, Ms. Nandini Shukla, presented an annual report of the extra-curricular activities.

The recognition and promotion of young professionals has become a central part of today’s talent promotion. We at Kerala Samajam Model School believe that each individual has inherent potential that education, encouragement and opportunity to try new things, can promote. It prepares them for more demanding tasks; enable them to take positions of authority with decision-making & responsibility.

The Annual Youth Festival ensures that every student participates in a range of co-curricular on-stage and off stage activities with new events added each year. The students qualify to participate in the finals after each of them has passed through the Quarter final and Semi-final stage.  Segmented Annual Youth Festival L.Kg. to Std. I, Std. II to Std. IV, Std. V to Std. VII and for Std. VIII to Std.XII ensure that every student in our school takes part in various activities along with his/her scholastic endeavor.

Mr. P S Reddy, Chief Guest, appreciated the education imparted by KSMS. He admired the Spoken Engilsh classes for mothers. He urged students to adopt healthy and safe lifestyle.

To inculcate a spirit of team work, tolerance and healthy competition, the students of Std. II to Std. XII are divided into four houses namely Peace, Joy, Hope and Charity. Each winner contributes to house points.

Some notable events are

  • Meme making
  • Model making
  • Video shooting
  • Spin a Yarn : Extempore story telling
  • Spoken English Classes: This was initiated for the Mothers of L.Kg. to Std.2 students.

STEP-UP MOTHERS

The Care & Share club of Kerala Samajam Model School, Golmuri took the initiative to organize and conduct Spoken English Classes for the mothers of L.Kg to Std.2 students in 2017.

This is a fact that students who come from English-speaking background are able to learn, write and communicate in English faster and perform better in academics.  Those who are deprived of this are slow in speaking & understanding the language. Later they suffer in academics performance as the syllabus delivery is in English and so are the textbooks. This was complimented by a substantial demand on behalf of the mothers as well.

It was commendable step taken by 37 others to take out time from their busy schedule for the future of their children after the Principal, Ms. Nandini Shukla, announced it in the Orientation meeting for the L.kg. parents.
Mr. Rajeshwar Rao, an expert in motivation and personality development was their teacher-cum-guide. Each class has a role-model, a special mention of man who encouraged them, used innovative means and contributed much to the sustenance of their interest, Mr. Rajeshwar Rao.
