WE CARE

KSMS has always played a pioneering role as far as social commitment is concerned. In this pandemic too, it rose tall and mighty to encounter the need of the hour and standby the disadvantaged lot of the society to alleviate misery caused by the sudden lockdown.

The attempt to reach out to the underprivileged with the basic necessities is a praiseworthy endeavour of the School Alumni members comprising Mr. Manish Choudhary, Mr. Piyush Gupta, Mr. Deepak Puri and Mr. Murli Manohar led by Mr. Abraham. A. L., Vice-Principal, KSMS and Alumni Coordinator, in collaboration with Kerala Samajam led by the Senior leadership team consisting of Mr. KPG Nair, Chairman, Mr. P. Sasidharan, President, Mr. Sukumaran, Trustee Board Member and Mr. P. Sunil, General Secretary and other executive committee members of the Samajam.

More than 400 freshly prepared food packets were distributed daily from 30th March to 2nd May 2020 upto the end of second cycle of the lockdown. The initiative will restart from 8th May 2020 for the 3rd phase.

This was indeed a mammoth task but made easy by the efficiency and hard work of the canteen boys and the volunteers.

30 grocery kits were distributed to the disadvantaged families. The Rotary Shelter Home near MTMH was provided with 200 kg potato and 30 kg dal. The MGM Medical College was provided with 500 surgical masks.

The persistent toil of the canteen boys and support staff was recognized on May Day. Each one was presented with a T-Shirt as a token of appreciation.

This venture was possible because of the Philanthropic instinct of the donors and the volunteers who came forward extending their support in a large way. Mrs. Shobha Sukumaran and Mrs. Sheela Sudhakaran, teachers KSMS, came out each day, braving the lockdown to be a part of this drive. Mr. Pradeep, the Asst. Manager, Assets & Infrastructure played a pivotal role. A big thank you to the sponsors and volunteers.
