KSMS CELEBRATES MOTHER’S DAY
It is rightly said, there is no heroism greater than motherhood. Mother, the heartthrob of every home neglects her needs to cater to the needs of the family. So, the students of Care and Share & Junior Safe Club decided to honour them by coddling them and making them feel special on this Mother’s Day.
Students from LKG to Std. IX participated wholeheartedly in this initiative exhibiting their concern and love for their mothers. Various activities were conducted on virtual platform from 8th to 10th May,2020. Some of these were ‘Dance and Defeat Corona’ in which the child and mother duo had to record a short dance, depicting ways to defeat Covid-19 virus. ‘A Day Like Your Mother’ was an activity wherein the students had to clean the house, organise a spa or cook a simple dish for their mothers without using fire. Children also did Poetry writing and designed thanksgiving cards for their “Mummy”.
These activities were designed to accentuate Child-Mother bond building, nurture the attitude of gratitude and trigger creativity in students. The response was extremely good. The enthusiasm with which mothers and the students participated was amazing.

“HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY”
This May 10th, 2020 marked the annual observance of National Clean-up Day and Mothers’ Day and both of these were observed by different clubs of KSMS by organizing various home-based, value building and personality grooming activities. These clubs play a pivotal role in holistic development of students.
The ‘National Clean Up Your Room Day’, though a parent appreciated day, is often dreaded by their children. Sometimes these two days coincide in a calendar year and it turns out to be a perfect gift for Mother’s Day. The Eco Club executed several activity-based projects on the theme of “Cleanliness Is Next To Loving You Mother”.
The Eco Club members were given various tasks on a daily basis like Collage on – status before and after cleaning, Be My Buddy – where students had to label their belongings, Old is Gold, an activity to clean a cluttered cupboard and gift the clothing you have outgrown thus eliminate those you are not using. The Grand Finale was a video presentation named “NAMASTE” – Children had to decorate their rooms and introduce it by greeting the audience with “Namaste”. The Project concluded with an exciting game “Catch Me If You Can”, where each student randomly reviewed the drawing room of their mate to find out their likes.
The purpose was to showcase and promote the concept of cleanliness across parents and students to which the response was overwhelming.
KSMS dedicated this Mother’s Day to the worried yet brave mothers of the Frontline Corona Warriors like the health workers, municipality and housekeeping staff, police, media, people in banking sector and essential services, who come out of their safe homes braving the pandemic for us to remain safe. We salute and pray for these heroes and their superhero mothers.
