The training aimed to equip the school’s sub staff — including peons, drivers, cleaners, security personnel, and other support members – with essential skills to efficiently respond in case of emergencies such as fire, earthquake, or other unforeseen situations.
The session was conducted under the guidance of trained safety officers and disaster management experts of Tata Steel who provided hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises covering:
Basic first aid techniques
Evacuation procedures
Crowd management during emergencies
Safe rescue techniques for students and staff
Vice Principals, Mr. A L Abraham and Ms. Rina Banerjee addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of every staff member’s role in ensuring a secure environment. “Our staff are the backbone of our daily operations, and their preparedness in handling emergencies is crucial for the safety of our students”.
The training concluded with a live mock drill, where all staff members participated actively, demonstrating the procedures they learned. The initiative was widely appreciated by staff and management alike, reinforcing the school’s commitment to prioritizing safety at all levels.
